On June 3, the Investigation Agency of Vinh City Police (Nghe An) initiated a case and prosecuted 9 defendants for organizing gambling and gambling in the form of football betting worth more than 80 billion VND.
This is a large online gambling ring in the form of football betting in Nghe An province led by Gian Tu Cong (born in 1991), residing in Ha Huy Tap ward, Vinh city, currently living in Ho Chi Minh city.
In addition, of the remaining 8 subjects also arrested by the police, 5 subjects reside in Vinh City including: Pham Quang Manh (born in 1991); Nguyen Minh Tai (born in 1992), Nguyen Van Tai (born in 2000), Nguyen Xuan Danh (born in 2001) and Nguyen Huu Duc (born in 1993); 3 other subjects include: Dang Khac Duy (born in 1989, residing in Giang Son Dong commune, Do Luong district), Le Van Son (born in 1982, residing in Ky Son commune, Tan Ky district) and Nguyen Van Le (born in 1983, residing in Xuan Lam commune, Hung Nguyen district).
Previously, through the investigation, Vinh City Police discovered a gambling ring in the form of online football betting that was operating very secretly. The operator of this ring was Gian Tu Cong, who used the general manager account to organize gambling in the form of football betting on the website “bong88.com” with a number of other subjects inside and outside the province.
This is a very professionally organized network with many tricks to deal with the authorities. All gambling transactions of this group are conducted online via smartphones. During the process of collecting evidence, Vinh City Police identified all the subjects in the football betting organization network in Nghe An province and Ho Chi Minh City.
After a period of applying professional measures to fight, under the direct direction of the Director and Deputy Director, Head of the Provincial Police Investigation Agency, Vinh City Police successfully broke the case, arresting the 9 above subjects.
The police seized evidence of the case: 10 mobile phones, along with other evidence related to the case. Initially, the authorities proved that the amount of money the subjects transacted gambling in the form of football betting from April 2023 to the time of arrest was more than 80 billion VND.
Currently, the case is under further investigation.
