Striker Serhou Guirassy scored a hat-trick for Dortmund in the second leg, but it was not enough to overturn a 4-0 first-leg deficit. He surpassed Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski to lead the race for the Champions League Golden Boot. However, the 29-year-old striker has no chance to improve on his record as Dortmund have been eliminated.

Raphinha and Lewandowski still have at least two games to overcome Guirassy, but they, along with Lamine Yamal, must play much better than they did on the night of April 15.

Dortmund soon got a goal back in the second leg, when midfielder Pascal Gross broke into the penalty area and was fouled by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. The referee awarded a penalty to the home team, allowing striker Serhou Guirassy to kick the ball into the middle of the goal to score.

Dortmund's early equalizer helped the Signal Iduna Park crowd cheer even more enthusiastically, cheering at every winning phase of the home team. The pressure on the pitch and in the stands prevented Barca from taking a shot on goal until Guirassy reduced the score to 2-4 early in the second half. From a corner kick on the right, centre-back Ramy Bensebaini headed the ball for the Guinean striker to finish into an empty net.

Bensebaini scored a great goal for the second goal, but made a serious mistake five minutes later. From a cross from midfielder Fermin Lopez from the right, the Algerian centre-back, in an attempt to clear the ball, kicked the ball into his own net, leaving goalkeeper Gregor Kobel helpless.

This goal caused Dortmund's spirit to drop. They scored another goal in the 76th minute, also thanks to Guirassy. From a failed clearance by centre-back Ronald Araujo, Guirassy shot with his left foot into the visitors' net, completing his hat-trick in this match.

In the remaining minutes, the home team seemed to run out of energy, no longer creating dangerous opportunities. Barca were also not too keen on scoring more goals, just trying to preserve the score. Hansi Flick and his team completed the task, although not easily, and waited for Inter or Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.
