From today, VinFast adjusts the configuration of VF 7 when the Plus version has an additional one-wheel drive option, the two-wheel drive version only sells remaining inventory.
Versions and prices of VF 7 from April 15 are as follows: (unit:million dong)
VF Version 7 | Steel ceiling | Glass ceiling |
Eco (one bridge) | 799 | - |
Plus standard (one bridge) | 949 | 969 |
Plus upgrade (two-wheel drive) | 999 | 1,019 |
For the Eco version, the Vietnamese company still keeps the same configuration and price. The change in the VF 7 configuration is that the Plus version has a single-wheel drive (FWD) version for the first time, priced at 949 million and 969 million for the two steel ceiling and glass ceiling options, respectively.
Previously, VinFast VF 7 Plus had all-wheel drive (AWD). When the single-wheel drive version was available, VinFast increased the price of the all-wheel drive version by 50 million VND, to 999 million VND for the steel version and 1.019 billion VND for the glass version.
VinFast dealers said that the number of VF 7 Plus 2WD versions left at the dealership is very limited. In the near future, when the VF 7 Plus batch runs out, the company will only sell 1WD versions for all VF 7 variants in general.
VF 7 is priced at 799-1,019 million VND, competing with rivals such as Mazda CX-5 (749 - 979 million VND), Ford Territory (759-889 million VND)... CX-5 has 2.5 engine versions with 2-wheel drive, while Territory only has front-wheel drive options. In the segment, only VF 7 has a pure electric configuration, the rest are gasoline or hybrid vehicles.
In addition to VF 7, VinFast also adjusted the VF 8 Eco version from 2WD to 1WD, priced at 1.019 billion VND and applied from the end of February. For the remaining 2WD versions, the price increased by 50 million, to 1.069 billion VND.
This is VinFast’s second price adjustment in less than two months. In March, the company stopped selling battery-leased cars and reduced the retail prices of all electric vehicles, from VF 3 to VF 9, by around VND11-181 million.
Among the models with adjusted prices, VF 9 is the product with the biggest price reduction, followed by VF 8. VinFast VF 3, the smallest and most affordable model of the Vietnamese company, has dropped below 300 million VND for the first time.
At the end of March, VinFast said it sold more than 35,100 cars, continuing to lead the entire market. Following were Toyota with 11,830 cars and Hyundai Thanh Cong, the company that sold Hyundai cars with 11,474 cars.
