Rescuing 5 people trapped in a house fire in Tu Ky

A large fire at a house in Minh Duc commune, Tu Ky district (Hai Duong) was quickly extinguished, and authorities safely rescued five trapped residents from the fire.

At about 10:30 p.m. on March 19, a large fire broke out at the house of Mr. Bui Xuan T. in Van Tai village, Minh Duc commune, Tu Ky district (Hai Duong).

Mr. T's family rented this house nearly a month ago, it has 2 floors and 1 attic. The fire broke out on the 1st floor. At the time of the fire, there were 5 people inside on the 2nd floor including Mr. T's grandmother, wife and 3 children.

Upon receiving the news, Minh Duc Commune Police mobilized security forces to quickly arrive at the fire, using on-site fire fighting equipment and vehicles. At the same time, they exchanged and contacted Tu Ky Town Police to assist in traffic control; the District Medical Center dispatched 2 ambulances to the rescue.

The Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Provincial Police) also mobilized fire trucks and officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire; organized a search team, and used professional measures to safely rescue 5 people trapped in the bathroom on the 2nd floor.

At around 11:15 p.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished and the five trapped people were rescued. The victims suffered from heat and smoke-induced respiratory problems and are undergoing medical monitoring but their lives are not in danger.

Minh Duc commune leaders visited and gave gifts to encourage the victim's family who is being monitored at the Provincial General Hospital.

Authorities are investigating the cause and determining the damage of the fire.
