On April 21, Comrade Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province and the provincial delegation visited and worked with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Australia.
The visit is part of the investment and trade promotion program in Australia and New Zealand from April 20-27 of Hai Duong province.
Participating in the working delegation were a number of comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee and leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.
At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung informed the Vietnamese Consulate General about the socio-economic development situation of Hai Duong province in 2023 and the first months of 2024; the cooperative relationship between Hai Duong and Australian partners.
Comrade Trieu The Hung hopes that in the coming time, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Sydney will continue to support the province in activities of contacting Australian businesses, connecting investment funds, creating a bridge to introduce businesses and partners to learn about and invest in Hai Duong, especially in areas such as high-tech industry and supporting industry. Priority will be given to clean and environmentally friendly technology. Hai Duong also hopes to attract investment in high-tech agriculture.
In the field of education and training, Hai Duong hopes to attract Australian schools to Hai Duong or cooperate between the two sides in student exchange, logistics... From there, create a high-quality human resource that can be exported to Australia or provided to Australian companies operating in Vietnam...
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung also informed that Hai Duong has just announced the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. In order to synchronously and effectively implement the provincial planning approved by the Prime Minister, Hai Duong wishes to learn from Australia's experience in urban management and planning.
Consul General of Vietnam in Sydney Nguyen Dang Thang highly appreciated the achievements in socio-economic development of Hai Duong province. At the same time, he informed the delegation about the socio-economic situation in Australia and the cooperative relationship between the two countries. In particular, the visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Australia last March marked an important milestone, bringing the relationship between Vietnam and Australia to a new height, a comprehensive strategic partnership. Consul General Nguyen Dang Thang assessed that the areas that Hai Duong identified to attract investment from Australia were the right focus and exchanged and suggested more information to support Hai Duong's investment promotion in the Australian market. The Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney is ready to support and connect to promote the development of the relationship between Hai Duong province and Australian partners, contributing to the development of the province and the general relationship between the two countries.
According to the plan, during this trip, the delegation led by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung will work with the Vietnam Business Association in Australia to promote trade between the two sides and learn about regulations on importing agricultural products into Australia. The delegation will also participate in surveys of agricultural development models at some famous farms; and survey the current status of construction and urban planning in some cities in Australia.
The delegation also worked with representatives of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce to learn from experience in developing high-tech agriculture, attracting investment in the locality, and introducing lychee products to the New Zealand market.
