Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang received US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper

On the morning of March 17, Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, had a meeting with Mr. Marc E. Knapper, US Ambassador to Vietnam, during the visit and working session in Hai Duong of the US Embassy delegation.

Also attending the reception were comrades: Do Hung Viet, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam; Tran Van Quan, Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee.

At the reception, Comrade Tran Duc Thang expressed his joy at welcoming US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E. Knapper during his visit and work in Hai Duong.

He emphasized that in the increasingly close relationship between Vietnam and the United States after 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Hai Duong is one of the localities receiving attention from US investors.

To date, the province has 11 projects of US investors, with a total disbursed investment of 270 million USD. Although the number of US investors in the province is not large, these are enterprises that have successfully implemented business strategies and plans, are highly responsible in implementing legal regulations as well as community activities. Ford Vietnam is a typical enterprise of the province, contributing an average of about 5,000 billion VND per year to the state budget.

Hai Duong has a favorable geographical location. In particular, in recent years, the provincial government has promoted administrative procedure reform, created favorable conditions, accompanied, listened to, and promptly resolved difficulties and problems arising so that the business community in general and FDI enterprises in particular, including Ford Vietnam and other US-invested enterprises, can develop sustainably.

Hai Duong has all the necessary conditions for investment, from clean land, connected traffic infrastructure, skilled labor force, stable electricity and water sources to security and order that are always guaranteed. The province always welcomes investors, including US businesses, to learn and invest, especially large enterprises with high technology content.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States, nearly 2 years since the relationship was upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang hopes that US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper will continue to deepen the relationship between the two countries and pay attention to Hai Duong.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary sent an official invitation to US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper to visit and work in Hai Duong in the coming time.

US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper thanked the Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang for his warm welcome and happily accepted the invitation. Pleased that US businesses, especially Ford Vietnam, have made positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Hai Duong in recent times, Mr. Marc E. Knapper affirmed that he will continue to make efforts to deepen the Vietnam - US relationship in general, as well as continue to pay attention to Hai Duong both now and in the future.

US Ambassador Marc E. Knapper will continue to encourage US businesses to explore investment in Hai Duong, saying that US businesses are always interested in localities with good investment ecosystems, such as investment support policies, abundant and skilled labor resources, and connecting infrastructure, etc.

Before the reception of the US Ambassador to Vietnam, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang had a meeting with Ms. Simonetta Verdi, Senior Director of Government Relations, International Markets of Ford Motor Company and the delegation of Ford Vietnam.

On the same morning, Mr. Marc E. Knapper had a working session with Ford Vietnam leaders at Ford Hai Duong Factory. Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Quan also attended.
