According to Opta, Myles Lewis-Skelly (18 years, 176 days) became the second youngest Arsenal player in history to appear for the England national team, after Theo Walcott (17 years, 75 days).

And to mark a memorable milestone in his career, Lewis-Skelly scored the opening goal in the "Three Lions" 2-0 victory over Albania in the early morning of March 22.

The shot past goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha from close range helped the left-back born in 2006 make history once again as the youngest player to score for the England team on his debut, breaking the record held by Marcus Rashford with a goal at 18 years and 209 days against Australia in 2016.

Lewis-Skelly’s career has taken an incredible turn in the last six months. The London-born youngster made his Premier League debut and scored his first goal, followed by a Champions League debut. His impressive performances have seen him quickly become a mainstay at Arsenal and earn him a call-up to the England squad by manager Thomas Tuchel.

87 touches, 100% duels won, 93% pass accuracy, 1 shot, 1 goal are Lewis-Skelly's stats in his England debut. The Arsenal youngster was rated 7.7 by Sofascore, only lower than Dan Burn in defence.

Goals from Lewis-Skelly and Harry Kane gave England a flying start in the European qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup. Thomas Tuchel's side will face Latvia at home on March 24 and are expected to continue their winning streak.
