Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung promotes investment in Japan

The delegation included Mr. Tran Van Quan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of a number of departments, branches, localities and enterprises of the province.

The delegation attended the Hai Duong Trade and Investment Promotion Conference in Tokyo in 2022 held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan. The conference attracted many Japanese businessmen, enterprises, investors, journalists, etc. to participate. At the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung exchanged some specific information about Hai Duong province. He highly appreciated the increasingly important and effective contributions of Japanese enterprises and businessmen who have invested in Hai Duong. To date, there have been 60 projects from Japan, with a total capital of nearly 1.5 billion USD, ranking second in the number of projects and FDI capital in the province. In 2021, the export turnover of Japanese enterprises in Hai Duong reached 915 million USD, accounting for 9.3% of the province's total export turnover, contributing 12.4% to the total product value of Hai Duong province.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sincerely thanked the Government of Japan, the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and the Japan Business Association in Vietnam for always trusting, supporting, and promoting investment in Hai Duong; acknowledged and thanked Japanese enterprises and businessmen for investing and effectively contributing to the development of the province.

At the workshop, the Vietnam Business Association in Japan (VJBA) and the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Duong province signed a cooperation agreement to promote the implementation of consulting activities, connecting trade of goods, services, and investment for member enterprises of the association and enterprises of Hai Duong province.

At the end of the workshop, delegates visited the booth displaying handicraft products and some typical products of Hai Duong province.

Representatives of the Vietnam Business Association in Japan and leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade of Hai Duong province signed a cooperation program.

Before that, upon arriving in Tokyo, the delegation had a working session with AEON Group.

On the same afternoon, the delegation continued to have many investment and trade promotion activities with Japanese enterprises and businessmen and Vietnamese enterprises in Japan. Speaking at the working session with JETRO, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung requested JETRO to continue to help Hai Duong province in connecting enterprises, organizing domestic and foreign investment promotion conferences, and coordinating to organize seminars to resolve difficulties and problems of enterprises in the province.
