Women of Hai Duong and Hung Yen unite, bond and are affectionate

On the morning of March 7, at the Eastern Cultural Center (Hai Duong City), the Women's Union of Hai Duong and Hung Yen provinces held a meeting with female cadres and union cadres of the two provinces through the periods.

This is an activity to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term, to celebrate the 1,985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung uprising (40 - 2025), the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2025) and towards the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025).

Attending the event were comrade Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee. Also attending were comrades: Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Duong province; Tran Quoc Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Hung Yen Provincial People's Council; Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee.

The meeting was also attended by a number of members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the People's Council and People's Committee of Hai Duong and Hung Yen provinces; female cadres and women's union cadres of the two provinces through the periods.

Speaking at the meeting, the Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee affirmed that this is a meaningful activity to recognize and honor the contributions of female cadres and women's union cadres to the cause of building and developing Hai Duong and Hung Yen provinces in recent years.

Recalling the development history of Hai Duong and Hung Yen with many ups and downs, mergers and separations, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang emphasized that the two provinces have always accompanied each other, overcome difficulties and strived forward. Especially in the 28 years of merger into Hai Hung province (1968 - 1996), the Party Committee, government and people have united, unified, successfully implemented guidelines and policies, making an important contribution to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Those years have become a beautiful part of the memories of many cadres and people of the two provinces. Up to now, nearly 3 decades of separation, but the old affection, attachment, and consistent solidarity are still preserved and cultivated by cadres and people of Hai Duong and Hung Yen. This has become an extremely valuable asset, a provision for the two provinces to continue to achieve achievements in the current development stage.

The Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee expressed his pride in the development achievements of the two provinces since the re-establishment of the province. From purely agricultural provinces, Hai Duong and Hung Yen have become localities with economic growth rates in the leading group of the Red River Delta region with a high proportion of industry and services. In 2024, Hai Duong province achieved a growth rate of 10.2%, ranking 6th in the country and the highest in the past 10 years. Hai Duong's economic scale ranked 11th in the country. Hung Yen has had rapid and comprehensive development steps. Hung Yen's economic scale ranked 16th in the country and is one of the 10 localities with the highest budget revenue in the country.

Comrade Tran Duc Thang emphasized that in the development process of the two provinces, generations of women have made important contributions to building their homeland. During the war, many women did not fear hardships, rushing to the front lines or in the rear to work wholeheartedly to support the army and fight the enemy. The images of female guerrillas Hoang Ngan and Lai Vu with heroic examples will forever be symbols of the strength and indomitable spirit of women in Hai Duong and Hung Yen. When the country is at peace and enters a period of innovation, regardless of the circumstances, positions, and roles, women in the two provinces of Hai Duong and Hung Yen always promote traditional values ​​and good qualities, solidarity, dynamism, creativity, and make great contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang said that in recent years, the leaders of the two provinces have always paid special attention to the work of female cadres and gender equality. Along with that, the efforts of women have led to the emergence of many creative ways and effective models with great influence. Typical examples are the emulation movements "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families", "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" and the campaigns: "Building families with 5 no's and 3 clean's", "Training the moral qualities of Confidence - self-respect - loyalty - responsibility" associated with studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology and morality.

Comrade Tran Duc Thang also emphasized the role of women's organizations, especially the role of representing, supervising and criticizing society, participating in Party building, the political system and mobilizing society to implement gender equality.

Quoting the song “This is Hai Hung land in the middle of the North/ Raising troops to fight the enemy… our homeland arose from the land”, Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang believes in the solidarity, attachment and affection of the Party Committee, government and people of the two provinces in general and women in particular.

The Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee hopes that whether retired or still working, you will always promote the good qualities of Vietnamese women: "Confidence - Self-respect - Loyalty - Responsibility". For women's unions at all levels, it is necessary to continue to inherit and promote the traditions and achievements of the past time, proactively, creatively, and effectively implement the Resolution of the National Women's Congress for the 2022 - 2027 term. From there, continue to write glorious pages of history of the women's movement and union work to enter a new era of strong and prosperous development of the nation.
