Gia Loc District (Hai Duong) currently has 57 centralized landfills, but many are almost full, with no land left for expansion.
In the 3 years from 2025 - 2027, Gia Loc district needs over 10 billion VND to renovate and expand the landfill.
Of which, 39 landfills need to be renovated with a cost of over 4.1 billion VND; 4 landfills need to be expanded with a cost of nearly 3.2 billion VND; over 3 billion VND for leveling, compacting, and spraying environmental treatment products.
The district will also close seven landfills because they are full and cannot be renovated or expanded.
Gia Loc currently has 57 centralized landfills. Currently, some landfills in Toan Thang, Gia Phuc, Quang Duc, Doan Thuong, Hoang Dieu communes... have been almost filled. Some communes such as Toan Thang, Gia Phuc, Quang Duc no longer have land to build landfills or do not have the ability to renovate to accommodate more waste.
Every day, people in the district throw away nearly 91 tons of garbage, of which 25 tons are taken to the factory for treatment, the rest is buried in landfills.
