Feel the change

When mentioning Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien (in lane 71, Nguyen Luong Bang street, Hai Duong city), photographers in Hai Duong are often impressed with photos of large, typical projects and constructions that bear the unique features of Hai Duong city. Mr. Hien has just spent more than 3 months to complete a photo series of Hai Duong city from above. To have a unique photo series of the city, Mr. Hien had to invest in modern equipment and devote a lot of effort and passion. With panoramic photos, Mr. Hien had to spend many days, "watching" for the most beautiful moments and using panorama techniques to take dozens of photos to create a complete photo.

Mr. Hien shared that it was through his works that he felt and saw clearly the changes and development of Hai Duong City. When he started taking artistic photos in early 2019, the Ecorivers Hai Duong urban area had just begun construction and now it has become a highlight in the heart of the city. The photo of the Big C overpass intersection area that once brought Mr. Hien a high award at the Central level has also changed with the presence of apartment buildings in the Nhi Chau Ward housing project. The old Hai Duong Trade Center is also gradually being replaced by a complex Trade - Service - Entertainment Center on the "golden land" of Hai Duong City.

“The beauty of Hai Duong City changes not only by year but also by day and hour. It is the same traffic intersection but each day and hour of taking photos has a different beauty. I have traveled to many places to compose, but taking photos of Hai Duong City always gives me a familiar and close feeling because this is taking photos of my own home,” Hien shared.

Stick with the walking street

As a military officer who retired 3 years ago, Mr. Phung Trong Tue (on Yet Kieu Street, Hai Duong City) now has more time to indulge his passion for photography. Especially since the opening of Bach Dang walking street and night market (Hai Duong City), Mr. Tue has had more material to create. Regularly present at the walking street and night market every weekend, Mr. Tue has taken hundreds of memorable photos here.

Through Tue's lens, the scenery, activities and people on the walking street are depicted sharply. What many people feel when looking at Tue's photos is the joyful, vibrant atmosphere with many unique angles, imbued with the author's personal style. With a large number of photos, carefully and richly taken, those who have never been to the walking street or Bach Dang night market will probably also feel the atmosphere here when looking at Tue's photos. Many beautiful photos were also sent by Tue to units of Hai Duong city to serve information and propaganda work. "In addition to satisfying my passion, I also want to contribute to promoting the image of Hai Duong city to people far away," said Tue.

Beauty from simple things

Born and raised in Hai Duong City, Mr. Tran The Thai (on Hoang Van Thu Street) is attached to and familiar with every corner of the city's old quarter. As a driving instructor, whenever he has time, Mr. Thai often takes a camera and walks on the streets of the city to capture the most natural and everyday moments. Mr. Thai's photos sometimes show a lotus blooming at Van Hoa Lake, an old lady reading the newspaper in front of her house, the sunset casting its shadow on Bach Dang Lake, the sunrise on Thai Binh River or simply people walking on the street...

Every time he takes a photo that he likes, Mr. Thai often shares it on his personal Facebook page so that friends near and far can enjoy it. “I take photos simply because of my passion and want to preserve the simple, familiar beauty of the city. Hai Duong City has changed a lot, but for me, the city always has a peaceful, fresh beauty that I miss when I am away from home,” Mr. Thai confided.

According to artist Tran Quang Thong, Head of Photography Department, Hai Duong Literature and Arts Association, compared to other cities in the region, Hai Duong City is one of the places with a large number of photographers. Hai Duong City is the center of the province, so there are many abundant topics for artists and photography enthusiasts to create. In the photography community of Hai Duong, there are many artists and photographers who are very close and have many outstanding works about Hai Duong City. They are like people who are writing a diary with images of Hai Duong City and the city is always an endless source of creative inspiration to create outstanding and valuable works.
