Participating in an international gold market investment app with advertising huge profits, a man from Hai Duong was scammed out of 100 million VND.
On the afternoon of November 18, the Nam Tu Liem District Police, Hanoi City, said that they had just received a report from Mr. P. (born in 1984, in Hai Duong) about being scammed when participating in an online gold investment app.
According to the report, around October 2023, Mr. P. received an invitation to invest in the international gold market through the IG VIP application with a "huge" profit.
Mr. P. transferred 100 million VND for investment. When making a withdrawal order, Mr. P. received a notification that he could not withdraw and had to register for a new package. Seeing signs of fraud, Mr. P. went to the Nam Tu Liem District Police to report the incident.
Hanoi City Police have warned about fraudulent tricks when participating in financial investment funds such as MBK, Carlyle, DF, gold, crude oil, and stock investment funds... However, many victims are still trapped.
Through the above incident, Hanoi City Police recommends that people need to be vigilant with investment funds and international trading floors that advertise high interest rates and pose a risk of fraud to protect themselves and avoid falling into financial traps.
