Hanoi Medical University opens three new majors, using for the first time the combination of block C (Literature, History, Geography) and block D (Math, Literature, English) for admission.
On June 8, Hanoi Medical University announced its enrollment plan, saying that this year it will open three new majors: Psychology, Midwifery, and Dental Prosthetics. As a result, the number of new students recruited is 1,720, an increase of 350 compared to last year.
The four admission methods are: direct admission, high school graduation exam scores, combining graduation exam scores with international language certificates, and based on Hanoi National University's (HSA) competency assessment test scores. This is the first time Hanoi Medical University has recognized results from a separate exam.
With the method of considering a combination of exam scores and English or French certificates, the school only applies to the fields of Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing (advanced program).
The requirements for Medicine and Dentistry are IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 79-93 points, TOEFL ITP 561-589 points. If using French, the certificate score is DELF B2 or TCF 400 points. For Nursing, candidates need to achieve IELTS 5.0 or higher or equivalent.
Candidates with these certificates will have their scores reduced by up to 3 points compared to the level considered based on graduation exam results.
Regarding the competency assessment test scores, Hanoi Medical University only applies to the Midwifery major and 3 majors at Thanh Hoa branch: Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Rehabilitation Technology. The minimum score to receive applications using this method is 75/150.
In addition, from only recruiting students using the B00 combination (Math, Chemistry, Biology) for decades, this year Hanoi Medical University uses both the D01 combination (Math, Literature, English) and C00 (Literature, History, Geography).
In which, combination D01 applies to Public Health and Psychology; C00 to Psychology.
In 2024, tuition fees at Hanoi Medical University will range from 15 to 55.2 million VND, similar to last year, as the school is autonomous.
In 2023, the benchmark score for Hanoi Medical University based on high school graduation exam results ranges from 19 to 27.73. Of which, the highest is in Medicine, the lowest is in Nursing at Thanh Hoa branch.
