According to information from Hanoi National University, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has just announced the results of the 2024 Asian University Rankings (QS AUR 2024), in which Hanoi National University is ranked 187th, in the group of 22% of leading universities in Asia.
Along with Hanoi National University, Vietnam has 14 other ranked higher education institutions: Duy Tan University; Ton Duc Thang University; Ho Chi Minh City National University; Nguyen Tat Thanh University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; Hue University; Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education; Da Nang University; University of Transport; Van Lang University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Hanoi National University of Education.
According to the QS AUR 2024 results, Hanoi National University has made steady progress in terms of Employer Reputation, rising to 131st place in Asia (with a score of 34.2 points). This result reflects that the training quality of Hanoi National University is increasingly appreciated by the labor market - represented by domestic and international employers. In addition to the increase in Employer Reputation, Hanoi National University still maintains its strengths in terms of International Research Network (ranked 89th in Asia - with 71.9 points) and Academic Reputation (ranked 147th in Asia - with 27.7 points).
In the QS AUR 2024 rankings, QS ranked 857 universities in Asia, including 149 universities ranked for the first time. The rankings are based on an analysis of responses from more than 2.1 million academic votes and 617,000 employer votes worldwide. In addition, QS analyzed more than 141.6 million citations (in the period 2017-2022); 17.6 million scientific publications (in the period 2017-2021).
Regarding the ranking criteria and weights, QS AUR 2024 maintains the same ranking method when evaluating higher education institutions according to 11 indicators: Scholars' evaluation 30%; Employers' evaluation 20%; Lecturer/student ratio 10%; Lecturer with PhD degree 5%; Number of scientific articles/lecturer 5%; Citation/scientific article ratio 10%; International research network 10%; International lecturer ratio 2.5%; International student ratio 2.5%; Exchange student ratio 2.5% and Exchange student ratio 2.5%.
The universities that top the rankings include: Peking University (China) retains the number one position as in 2023, the University of Hong Kong (China) is in second place, the National University of Singapore is in third place, and the fourth place is shared by Singapore's Nanyang Technological University and Tsinghua University (China).
