Before the news that Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh, Principal of the University of Law (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) asked to resign from her position, many comments said that it was related to the training and granting of a doctorate degree to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet (Thich Chan Quang).

Recently, Hanoi National University issued a decision allowing Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh to resign from the position of Principal of the University of Law according to her personal wishes from August 19, and at the same time assigned Associate Professor Dr. Trinh Tien Viet, Vice Principal of the school, to be the Vice Principal in charge until a new decision is made.

After posting the information, many comments suggested that Associate Professor Dr. Que Anh's resignation was related to the scandal of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet (Venerable Thich Chan Quang).

It is known that Mr. Vuong Tan Viet is suspected of not graduating from high school but successfully defended his doctoral thesis in September 2021, and obtained a doctoral degree in just 2 years (while according to the law, the training time for a doctoral degree is "equivalent to 3 to 4 years of concentrated study depending on the requirements of the training industry and the input level of the learner).

However, the place where Mr. Viet was trained and awarded his doctorate in law was Hanoi Law University, not the University of Law (Hanoi National University). Therefore, Associate Professor Dr. Que Anh's resignation from the position of principal is not related to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's case.

In 2017, Mr. Vuong Tan Viet was admitted to the second degree course 1 of the university level of law, the part-time form of Hanoi Law University opened at Bach Viet College, Ho Chi Minh City. Two years later, he was recognized as a graduate and awarded a bachelor's degree with honors and continued to be admitted to the 25B course of doctoral studies. In 2021, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Hanoi Law University.

Currently, in addition to regular universities focusing on law training, many universities also train law as a general trend. Up to now, there are nearly 20 universities in Hanoi training in law, including: Hanoi Law University, Law University (Hanoi National University), Foreign Trade University, National Economics University, Trade Union University, University of Commerce, Hanoi University of Business and Technology, Phenikaa University, Water Resources University, Hanoi University of Culture, Banking Academy, Diplomatic Academy, Academy of Policy and Development, Border Academy, Vietnam Women's Academy, Vietnam Youth Academy, Hanoi Open University...
