The 2025 Competency Assessment Exam (HSA) will take place in 6 rounds with a scale of 85,000 candidates, with a one-time fee of 600,000 VND.
On the afternoon of February 5, the Hanoi National University Examination Center announced the registration schedule, exam dates and locations, and candidate size for the 6 rounds of the competency assessment (HSA) exam.

Candidates create an account on the website of the Testing Center, Hanoi National University or the HSA homepage to register and select the exam session. The system only allows accounts to log in and operate on one computer device at the same time.
Since you can only register for one of the six sessions, you should pay attention to the mid-term exam schedule at your school to avoid overlapping. If you want to take another exam, you can register from 9am on March 3 until 14 days before the official exam date. However, the results depend on the number of available exam seats.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of the Testing Center, said this is a new point compared to previous years, to ensure that each candidate can participate in one exam session.
The exam fee for one session is 600,000 VND, an increase of 100,000 VND compared to last year. Candidates must submit online within 96 hours of completing registration.
The Hanoi National University HSA assessment test is conducted on a computer. The test duration is 195-199 minutes.
The test consists of two compulsory parts: mathematics - data processing (50 questions, 75 minutes) and literature.-Language (50 questions, 60 minutes). The third section is multiple choice (50 questions, 60 minutes). Candidates choose either Science or English. Each section may include one unscored test question.
Candidates can check their results and receive their certificates 14 days after taking the exam. HSA scores are currently used by about 90 universities for admission.
