Hanoi National University has released for the first time a handbook on competency assessment to support students in reviewing and preparing effectively for the exam.
On February 5, Hanoi National University Publishing House said that the book "Guide to Hanoi National University's Competency Assessment Test 2025" was compiled by a team of experienced experts, ensuring reliability and closeness to the actual exam.
The book consists of 4 parts with in-depth content. Part 1 provides general information about the test structure, question design and assessment principles. Part 2 includes more than 200 sample questions, helping students practice, self-analyze and assess their personal abilities.
In the last two parts, the editorial team summarizes the exam results for the 2022-2024 period for students to compare and refer to; suggests how to use the exam results to register for admission.
The book also provides specific guidance for teachers to support students and prepare them thoroughly for the competency assessment exam. The cover price of the book is 170,000 VND.
The aptitude test organized by Hanoi National University is used by about 90 schools for admission. This year, the exam will be held in 6 sessions, starting in March with an expected number of candidates of about 85,000.
This year's exam structure consists of 3 parts.
The Mathematics and Data Processing section consists of 50 questions, lasting 75 minutes (35 multiple-choice questions, 15 fill-in-the-blank questions). The content is in the fields of algebra, analysis, geometry and measurement, statistics and probability.
The Literature - Language section consists of 50 multiple choice questions, 60 minutes. The questions use materials related to many areas of life such as literature, language, culture, society, history, geography, art...
In addition, candidates have the choice of Science or English. For the Science section, candidates choose 3 out of 5 topics: physics, chemistry, biology, history and geography. Each topic has 17 questions. The English section consists of 50 multiple choice questions, designed for admission to foreign language training programs.
