The two subjects Thang and Linh were in debt and unable to pay, so they came up with the idea of ​​robbing property.

Through social networks, Thang saw Mr. M. posting pictures of him with a lot of money and gold, so he became friends with him. After that, Thang went to Mr. M.'s house in Long Tien commune, Cai Lay district to visit and borrow money, but was refused.

At around 1pm on January 30 (the second day of Tet), Thang invited Linh to Mr. M's house to rob him. When they arrived, Thang continued to ask Mr. M to borrow money but was refused. At this time, he strangled Mr. M, and Linh also "helped" to restrain the victim.

When Mr. M. died, Thang took the victim's 9.7-tael 18K gold bracelet, 4-tael 24K gold bracelet, 3 cell phones and 31 million VND.

After committing the crime, both of them fled; Thang gave Linh 2 million VND. After that, he sold the gold to get the money to pay off his debt and spend it on personal expenses.

At around 12 noon on February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), Tien Giang police received a report of Mr. M's unusual death.

Through examination of the scene and autopsy of the victim, the investigation agency determined that this was an especially serious murder case.

Using professional measures, the Criminal Police Department of Tien Giang Province Police coordinated with Ben Tre Police to arrest suspects Thang and Linh, when the two subjects were hiding in Mo Cay Nam district.
