When I went back to my hometown for the New Year holiday, I saw some students around 16-17 years old gathered around a computer. When I asked them, they innocently said they were learning how to make firecrackers to play Tet.
I was really surprised because making fireworks is very dangerous and all the materials and methods for making fireworks are available in detailed instructions online. For children, their awareness of the dangers of making and using fireworks is limited, so learning and making fireworks yourself is very dangerous. On the internet, there are also public advertisements for selling fireworks powder and shells to wrap fireworks. Buyers only need to place an order and within 2-3 days, someone will deliver it to their home. Some sites even include videos with instructions on how to make fireworks.
Buying materials and instructions for making fireworks is so easy that recently an 11th grade student in Lai Cach town (Cam Giang) learned how to make fireworks online to sell for profit. When this student brought fireworks to sell, the Cam Giang district police discovered and confiscated them. This student was also prosecuted for trafficking and manufacturing prohibited goods.
Every year, near the Lunar New Year, the issue of firecrackers becomes hot again. Accidents in the production and use of firecrackers are obvious to everyone. Many people have suffered lifelong injuries or even lost their lives because of firecrackers, becoming a burden for their families and society. However, there is still a large number of people who lack understanding, disregarding the State's regulations on the production, trading and use of firecrackers, causing unpredictable consequences for themselves and many others. A series of arrests and handling of acts related to firecrackers have been carried out by the province's functional forces recently. In just 3 days of the Lunar New Year holiday (from January 1 to 3), the police forces at all levels in the province discovered 10 cases with 12 subjects possessing a total of more than 151 kg of various types of firecrackers and 1.2 kg of firecracker powder.
For a joyful and peaceful spring of Nham Dan 2022, everyone should say no to firecrackers. The provincial authorities need to continue to strengthen inspection, detection and strict handling of violations. To contribute to repelling firecrackers, with the determination of the police force, families and schools should propagate regulations on the management and use of firecrackers, educate and raise awareness of everyone, especially teenagers and students. Parents also need to pay attention to education and control so that their children do not study or buy materials to make firecrackers. In addition to controlling and directly handling the acts of buying, selling, transporting and trading firecrackers, it is also necessary to strictly and thoroughly rectify and handle business entities or post instructions on making firecrackers on social networks.
