After learning how to make and buy materials to make firecrackers on Facebook, Bui Tuan Ngoc in Cam Giang district (Hai Duong) had to pay a heavy price with a prison sentence despite his young age.
The People's Court of Cam Giang district has just tried Bui Tuan Ngoc (born in 2007, residing in Phuc Dien commune, Cam Giang) for the crime of producing prohibited goods.
According to the indictment, Ngoc is disabled and needed money to spend, so he went on Facebook to learn how to make firecrackers and bought materials including sulfur, sodium, plastic wrap, newspaper, red paper... and hid them in his bedroom to produce firecrackers to sell for profit.
From the beginning of November to December 2024, Ngoc manufactured and produced 231 firecrackers, including 151 cylindrical firecrackers wrapped in newspaper, wrapped in red paper on the outside, and 80 cylindrical firecrackers wrapped in newspaper.
Ngoc then hid 231 firecrackers in the kitchen area to sell to those who wanted to buy them near Tet At Ty 2025. On December 19, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency (Cam Giang District Police) received a complaint from the public about Ngoc's firecracker production.
On the same day, the Investigation Agency worked with Ngoc. Ngoc voluntarily handed over 231 manufactured firecrackers weighing more than 75.8 kg, 1 metal mortar and 1 clock scale.
At the time of the crime, the defendant was a minor. Based on the nature, extent, and behavior of the case, the Trial Panel sentenced Bui Tuan Ngoc to 4 years and 3 months in prison for the crime of manufacturing prohibited goods.
