In early November 2023, the "Maps" section of the Snapchat mobile app displayed a map of Vietnam with the illegal "Cow Tongue Line" occupying almost the entire East Sea, while lacking Vietnam's Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.
After discovering this abnormality, press agencies, including Hai Duong Newspaper, strongly condemned and requested that this application remove the "Cow Tongue Line" in accordance with international law, respecting Vietnam's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Vietnamese Snapchat users reacted unanimously, boycotting and giving this application a 1-star rating.
After that, Snapchat had to remove the "Cow Tongue Line", but for nearly 3 months now, the "Map" section of this application still has not added Vietnam's Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Islands.
Hoang Sa and Truong Sa are two outpost archipelagos, inseparable parts of the Vietnamese Fatherland. Historical documents at home and abroad confirm that Vietnam has sufficient legal and historical evidence to assert its sovereignty over these two archipelagos.
An application operating in Vietnam is not allowed to use images or information that is false about Vietnam's territorial integrity.
