Three female criminals who "magically" transformed documents to embezzle more than 13 billion VND from a company received sentences ranging from 36 months to 13 years in prison.

On March 31, the People's Court of Hai Duong province held a first-instance trial and sentenced Nguyen Hoang Giang to 13 years in prison, Vu Thi Thuy Duong to 11 years in prison, and Nguyen Thi Dieu to 36 months in prison with a suspended sentence for fraud and property appropriation.
According to the indictment, Duong (born in 1987, residing in Long Xuyen commune, Binh Giang) worked at the Import-Export Department of Arion Electric Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Phuc Dien industrial park, Cam Phuc commune, Cam Giang). Giang (born in 1984, residing in Thanh Xuan Trung ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi) was an accountant. Dieu (born in 1986, residing in Hoang Liet ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi) was an employee of the document and customer care department of MLC ITL Logistic Co., Ltd. - Hanoi branch, headquartered in Phuong Mai ward, Dong Da district (Hanoi).
Duong agreed with Giang and Dieu to repair, create false invoices, and record increased services and money on price quotations to inflate the value of the import-export service payment request of MLC ITL Logistic Company Limited - Hanoi branch to Arion Electric Vietnam Company Limited with a total amount of more than 13 billion VND.
After Arion Electric Vietnam Co., Ltd. paid the above amount to Logistic MLC ITL Co., Ltd. - Hanoi branch, from July 28, 2016 to May 15, 2020, Giang created 32 payment orders to transfer money from the account of Logistic MLC ITL Co., Ltd. - Hanoi branch of more than 10.9 billion VND to the accounts of Giang and Duong's husband. Duong benefited more than 4.7 billion VND, Giang benefited more than 5.8 billion VND, Dieu benefited more than 355 million VND. The remaining amount has not been appropriated by the defendants.
In this case, Giang and Duong were both active participants, benefited a large amount of money, and played a major role in the case. Dieu acted as an accomplice with Giang and Duong.
The defendants must also return the money they appropriated to the victims.
