Mr. Phung Quang Trung, head of the Skyline photo restoration team, currently working in Hai Duong, is one of 10 individuals receiving the 2024 National Volunteer Award.
On the evening of December 29, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union presented the 2024 National Volunteer Awards to 10 individuals and 10 groups and honored 200 outstanding volunteer clubs, associations, and groups.
Mr. Phung Quang Trung, head of the Skyline photo restoration team, currently working in Hai Duong, is one of 10 individuals receiving the 2024 National Volunteer Award.
Mr. Phung Quang Trung was born in 1996, from Soc Son district (Hanoi), currently living and working in Hai Duong city.
From 2022 to present, Mr. Trung and his colleagues have restored thousands of martyrs' photos for free across the country to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs.
In 2024, his group coordinated with Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union to organize two programs "Hai Duong - Day of Return" and "Thanh Mien - Day of Return" to present 250 restored photos of martyrs and gifts to the families of martyrs. In addition, he also restored memorial photos of the people of Nu village.
He was awarded a certificate of merit by Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union for his outstanding achievements in volunteer activities in Hai Duong province, along with many certificates of merit and commemorative medals from other units.
Within the framework of the National Volunteer Day program in Lao Cai province, on the same morning, Mr. Trung and members of the Skyline group organized a 'zero-cost photo' booth to take, frame, and give away free photos to youth union members and local people.
In the list of 10 individuals honored this year, the youngest face is Thach Ngoc Hai, born in 2002, from Dong Thap, founder of the For You Project. The oldest person is Ms. Katrin Kandel, born in 1958, General Director of the charity organization Facing The World, who is also the only foreigner on the list.
