On the morning of June 21, with 448 National Assembly deputies voting in favor, the National Assembly officially passed the Resolution to establish a Thematic Supervision Team to monitor the implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection.
With 448 delegates participating in the vote in favor (accounting for 91.99%), the National Assembly passed a Resolution on the establishment of a National Assembly Thematic Supervision Delegation in 2025 on the implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection since the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 took effect.
On the morning of June 21, after listening to the National Assembly Standing Committee member, Secretary General of the National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong present the Report on explanation, acceptance and revision of the draft Resolution on the establishment of the National Assembly's Thematic Supervision Delegation in 2025, the National Assembly deputies voted to approve this draft resolution.
The electronic voting results showed that 448 delegates participated in the vote in favor (accounting for 91.99%). Thus, with the majority of delegates participating in the vote in favor, the National Assembly officially passed the Resolution on the establishment of the National Assembly's Thematic Supervision Delegation in 2025.
Previously, presenting a summary report on the explanation and acceptance, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong said that as of June 17, 2024, the National Assembly Standing Committee had received 314 written opinions from National Assembly deputies; of which 291 deputies fully agreed with the draft Resolution, and 23 deputies had specific opinions.
Based on the opinions of National Assembly deputies, the National Assembly Standing Committee found that Clause 1, Article 16 of the Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils and Article 23 of the Regulations on Organization of a Number of Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly both stipulate: Based on the supervisory program, the National Assembly shall issue a resolution to establish a Thematic Supervisory Team at the request of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
“Therefore, determining this as a Resolution to establish a Thematic Supervision Delegation is appropriate and agreed by the majority of National Assembly deputies,” emphasized Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong.
Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong also noted that from the experience of implementing monitoring topics from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term until now and at this Session, through the question-and-answer sessions and discussions on socio-economic issues, the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions, it can be seen that the content of the topic on environmental protection has received special attention from voters, people and National Assembly deputies.
The monitoring results reports of 63 National Assembly delegations and reports of agencies are important bases for the monitoring delegation to select agencies and localities to directly monitor.
“Therefore, in order for this thematic supervision activity to be implemented comprehensively and closely to reality, the participation of all National Assembly delegations of provinces and centrally run cities is necessary,” said Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong.
