Continuing the program of the 7th Session, 15th National Assembly, on the afternoon of June 8, with the majority of delegates participating in the vote in favor, the National Assembly passed the Resolution on the National Assembly's Supervision Program in 2025.
According to the Resolution, in 2025, the National Assembly will conduct supreme supervision on the topic “Implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection since the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 took effect”. This thematic supervision report will be considered by the National Assembly at the 10th Session.
The National Assembly assigned the National Assembly Standing Committee to organize thematic supervision of "Implementation of policies and laws on development and use of human resources to meet socio-economic development requirements, especially high-quality human resources" and report to the National Assembly at the 10th Session.
Also at the 10th session, the National Assembly will consider the Government's report on the implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on Long Thanh International Airport; the North-South Expressway Construction Project in the East for the 2021-2025 period; the Ring Road 4 Project - Hanoi Capital Region; the Ring Road 3 Project, Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, the National Assembly will also consider the work of preventing and combating corruption; the work of preventing and combating crimes and violations of the law; the work of enforcing judgments; the results of citizen reception, handling complaints and denunciations, etc.
Before the National Assembly voted to pass the resolution, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong reported on the reception of the National Assembly deputies' opinions. Accordingly, there were opinions suggesting that the National Assembly conduct supreme supervision on two topics on environmental protection and human resources; the National Assembly Standing Committee considered selecting thematic supervision on the management and use of public assets and disbursement of public investment capital for supervision in 2025...
Regarding this content, according to Mr. Bui Van Cuong, after considering many aspects, to ensure the quality and feasibility of the program, the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed to submit to the National Assembly and the majority of National Assembly deputies agreed to choose a topic for the National Assembly to supervise at the highest level and the National Assembly Standing Committee to supervise a topic.
Some contents as proposed by delegates have been incorporated into the consideration of the implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on the national financial plan and borrowing and repayment of public debt for the 5-year period 2021-2025; the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025; the resolution on promoting the implementation of policies and laws on practicing thrift and combating waste, etc.
According to the Secretary General of the National Assembly, taking into account the opinions of National Assembly deputies and based on the actual situation, the National Assembly Standing Committee will continue to direct the National Assembly agencies to consider and select issues of interest to voters, people and National Assembly deputies to conduct supervision in an appropriate form.
Along with that, immediately after the National Assembly agrees to include the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Supervisory Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils in the 2025 Law and Ordinance Building Program, the National Assembly Standing Committee will continue to direct the research, amendment and completion of the dossier to be submitted to the National Assembly for comments, ensuring the institutionalization of the Party's guidelines and policies; at the same time, removing difficulties, obstacles and problems in practice, ensuring the feasibility and consistency of the legal system and the requirement to innovate and improve the quality of supervisory activities in the current period.
