Training on testing for the High School Graduation Exam according to the new program

The event took place online at 76 locations with the participation of 3,591 officials working at the Ministry, 63 Departments of Education and Training, 12 higher education institutions, lecturers and teachers until December 17.

The professional training program is expected to last for 7 sessions, aiming to exchange, learn and improve testing capacity, the process of building a test question bank for those working in testing. These include: Questions and answers about the High School Graduation Exam; overview of psychometric concepts; standards of quality and fairness; evidence-centered test design methods; test development methods; writing multiple-choice questions; assessing the quality of questions and test creation models from the test question bank.

Building a team of cadres, civil servants, teachers, lecturers, and experts with professional and technical competence, understanding the process of building a question bank and creating exam questions is to serve the organization of exams, especially the High School Graduation Exam from 2025 according to the exam and assessment innovation roadmap of the Education sector.

In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that testing, assessment, and more broadly, testing, play an important role in assessing the output of learners, management, and teaching. Therefore, over the years, the Ministry of Education and Training has paid great attention to this work.

From 2025, the examination work in general, including the High School Graduation Exam, will have some important new points. Accordingly, the Exam will be organized according to the new General Education Program 2018 with the requirement to assess learners' capacity; therefore, from now on, the Ministry of Education and Training will prepare all conditions in terms of staff, programs, content, etc. for the examination work to serve the organization of the Exam from 2025. This specialized training on examination for cadres, lecturers, and teachers nationwide is a very large-scale training, with important significance, serving the immediate and long-term work.

Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong requested that members grasp the best information and knowledge content; proactively exchange, discuss, and raise difficulties and problems. After the training, cadres, lecturers, and teachers must use the process of self-training, fostering, and exchanging information with many different methods to consolidate and improve their expertise and professional skills in testing. At the same time, it is necessary to continue participating in other training sessions to build a team of testing staff from the grassroots, high schools to colleges, universities, etc., helping to increasingly improve the quality of the exam.
