Hai Duong City Police have detained Dinh Tien Minh, a 12H student at Thanh Dong High School. Minh rode his motorbike through a checkpoint for alcohol testing, seriously injuring a Hai Duong City traffic police officer.
On the evening of September 24, 2024, a working group of the Traffic Police Team coordinated with force 151 (Hai Duong City Police) to set up a checkpoint to check alcohol concentration on Thanh Nien Street, near HC Electronics Supermarket (Hai Duong City).
At around 8:50 p.m., the task force on duty discovered Dinh Tien Minh, born in 2007, living at 9/42 Tue Tinh, Binh Han Ward (Hai Duong City), riding a Wave 34B4-813.65 motorbike, not wearing a helmet, coming at high speed.
Seeing that, 3 soldiers in the working group standing in 3 different positions, including Major Nguyen Hong Khu, took turns signaling Minh to stop the car. Minh continuously did not comply but increased the speed and drove away, then crashed into Major Khu, causing him to fall onto the road.
As a result, Major Khu suffered a broken right leg, a broken left kneecap and facial injuries. Major Khu is being treated at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. Subject Minh suffered scratches on his left elbow, left hip and left ankle.
At the police station, Minh confessed that because he did not have a driver's license, was not wearing a helmet, and was afraid of being punished by the police, he did not obey orders to stop and ran away.
Minh is studying in grade 12H at Thanh Dong High School. Hai Duong City Police conducted a test, Minh had no alcohol concentration and tested negative for drugs.
Hai Duong City Police are temporarily detaining Minh to investigate his behavior of resisting a person on official duty.
