Accordingly, the high school graduation exam will closely follow the content of the new 2018 general education program, mainly the 12th grade program. 2025 is also the year of the high school graduation exam for the first generation of students studying under the 2018 general education program.
Therefore, the exam regulations also stipulate transitional provisions for candidates who have completed the general education program before 2025 but have not graduated from high school. Accordingly, these candidates will take the exam according to the old general education program (issued in 2006).
For candidates who have a high school diploma or intermediate diploma and wish to take the high school graduation exam in 2025 as a basis for admission registration, they can choose to take the exam according to one of two exam topics.
From 2026, the Ministry of Education and Training will organize the high school graduation exam with a single type of exam.
