At the Samsung Unpacked 2023 event on February 2 (Vietnam time), the Korean technology giant may launch a series of new products, including the Galaxy S23 smartphone line.

Early morning on February 2, Samsung will hold a new product launch event in the US. The company is expected to launch the high-end Galaxy S23 smartphone line along with several laptop models.

Here are the products expected to appear at the Samsung Unpacked 2023 event:

Galaxy S23

As is customary, Samsung usually launches its Galaxy S series of high-end smartphones at the beginning of each year. Similar to last year, the Korean electronics company may showcase three models, including the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Rumors suggest that the first two models will have the same design and configuration, differing only in screen size, while the S23 Ultra will be completely different in terms of configuration and features.

The biggest difference lies in the main camera with a 200MP sensor, superior to the 108MP sensor on the S22 Ultra. According to The Verge, the higher resolution sensor will give brighter, more detailed photos. A few weeks ago, Samsung announced the ISOCELL HP2 image sensor.

In addition to the 200MP sensor, the Galaxy S23 also has 3 other cameras, including a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom. This is a much better camera cluster than the S23 and S23 Plus. These two devices are said to use a 3-lens camera cluster with a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera.

In terms of design, the S23 Ultra will be more square than the other two, with an S Pen stylus. The S23 and S23 Plus have soft rounded corners. In terms of screen, the S23 is the smallest with a 6.1-inch 1080p 120Hz OLED screen, the S23 Plus uses a 6.6-inch screen, and the S23 Ultra uses a 6.8-inch 1440p 120Hz screen.

All three models appear to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in all markets, a departure from the tradition of using both Qualcomm and Exynos chips. Last year, Qualcomm CFO Akash Palkhiwala said that Qualcomm’s market share would increase from “75% in the Galaxy S22” to “global market share in the Galaxy S23.”

The remaining specifications could be 8GB/12GB RAM, 256GB to 1TB storage, 3,900mAh to 5,000mAh battery capacity, 45W fast charging on Plus, Ultra and 25W fast charging on the regular S23. Regarding the price, the S23 is expected to start at $799.99, the S23 Plus at $999.99 and the S23 Ultra at $1,199.99. In some European countries, the price may be 100 EUR more.

Galaxy Book 3

Samsung may launch new laptops alongside the Galaxy S23. Rumors suggest that up to five laptops will be introduced: Galaxy Book 3, Book 3 360, Book 3 Pro, Book 3 Pro 360, Book 3 Ultra. Last year, Samsung announced laptops at MWC in February.

As its name suggests, the Book 3 Ultra is the top-of-the-line model, featuring a 16-inch 1800p OLED display, an Intel i9-13900H chip, an Nvidia RTX 4070 discrete graphics card, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage, all compatible with the S Pen. The touchscreen is also thinner and lighter than usual thanks to the touch sensor integrated directly into the panel.

The Book 3 360 will have a screen that folds back to be used as a tablet, while the Book 3 uses a clamshell design. According to MySmartPrice, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 is equipped with a 16-inch 1800p OLED screen, Intel i5-1340p or i7-1360p chip, discrete Intel graphics card, 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of memory, and supports a stylus. The Galaxy Book 3 Pro has an additional 14-inch screen in addition to the 16-inch option.

Samsung Unpacked 2023 is not expected to feature new tablets, headphones, or smartwatches. According to The Elec, the company has delayed the launch of the new tablets from its original target due to a drop in demand for consumer electronics. However, they will still appear this year, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 in the summer.

Samsung will livestream the event on YouTube from 1am February 2 (Vietnam time).
