The Galaxy S25 series runs on One UI 7 with a focus on integrating AI into the operating system to redefine the way users interact with technology.
Early morning of January 23 (Vietnam time), at the Unpacked event held at the SAP Center, San Jose, California (USA), the "big guy" Samsung introduced its latest Galaxy S smartphone line, with more advanced on-device artificial intelligence (AI).
The three models of the Galaxy S25 series are the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Roh Tae Moon, head of mobile business at Samsung Electronics, stressed the focus of the new lineup is integrating AI into the operating system to redefine how users interact with technology.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Roh Tae Moon stated: "The Galaxy S25 series opens the door to an AI-integrated operating system that will fundamentally change the way we use technology and the way we live."
All three models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a custom version co-developed by Qualcomm Inc. and Samsung.
The company says it's the most powerful processor ever in the Galaxy S series, offering up to 40 percent improved performance in display image quality and power efficiency compared to the previous generation.
The Galaxy S25 series runs on One UI 7, Samsung's AI-driven user interface, which enhances multitasking by reducing the need to use multiple apps and allowing seamless interaction between apps.
Galaxy AI agents, equipped with multimodal capabilities, enable devices to interpret text, voice, images and videos, providing a more natural user experience.
The Galaxy S25 also features enhanced natural language understanding, allowing users to locate specific photos, adjust the display font size, or perform other tasks with voice commands.
Additionally, communication services include live translation and interpretation features supporting 20 languages, along with new call summarization and transcription capabilities.
The Galaxy S25 series incorporates new tools developed through Samsung's partnership with Google. A dedicated side button activates Google's Gemini assistant, facilitating seamless interactions between Samsung and Google apps.
The Circle feature, upgraded by Google to Search, first introduced in previous Galaxy models, can recognize phone numbers, emails and web addresses directly on the screen, allowing quick operations with just one touch.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra has a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, up from 12 megapixels on the previous model. The ProVisual Engine, powered by AI, ensures incredibly detailed photos in a variety of lighting conditions.
Galaxy AI's Audio Eraser technology helps users remove unwanted noise in videos or control audio for voices, music, or environmental sounds.
Samsung said the new Galaxy S25 series will officially hit shelves on February 7. Pre-orders in South Korea will be available from January 24 to February 3, with prices starting at 1.69 million won ($1,178) for the Ultra, 1.35 million won for the Plus, and 1.15 million won for the S25.
