On the evening of January 9, Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) was crowded. The check-in area was packed with passengers. Most of them were families and workers returning home early for Tet.

With the initiative to return home early and have a long vacation, many people bring large luggage. They have to wait in line for quite a long time to check-in.

This time is considered the peak month of Tan Son Nhat airport, the number of passengers gradually increases. On January 9 alone, the largest airport in the south welcomed nearly 110,000 passengers, including more than 58,000 departing passengers and nearly 51,000 arriving passengers with 747 flights.

"The airport is even more crowded these days, flights are also prone to be delayed, what I fear most is waiting because I have small children with me. So the family took the initiative to take care of work and booked an early flight back," Ms. Loan said.

Loan's family brought a lot of luggage, personal belongings, gifts... It took 9 members nearly 30 minutes to check in and check in their luggage.

Tan Son Nhat Airport has introduced a flight information lookup solution on electronic screens (FIDS) at the domestic terminal and a public transport map to support passengers' convenient travel.

During the peak Tet holiday, Tan Son Nhat airport is expected to receive about 115,000 passengers per day. Before December 30, the highest number of air passengers is expected to be on January 20 (December 29) with nearly 123,000 people. After the Tet holiday (January 29 - the 8th day of the Lunar New Year), there will be more than 144,000 passengers.

On a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi on the evening of January 9, all rows of seats were full.
