The incident occurred at around 1:00 p.m. on March 25 on Lien Phuong Street, Phu Huu Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.
According to witnesses, the victim was an employee of a telecommunications cable company. At the time of the incident, the young man was working on cable pulling on Lien Phuong Street with three other colleagues.
When the young man climbed up the electric pole to pull the cable, the pole suddenly exploded. At the same time, people were shocked to see the young man on fire on the pole, smoke billowing.
Without hesitation, they rushed to the scene, coordinated to find a way to approach and quickly bring the victim to the ground.
Medical staff were also present to provide first aid on the spot and quickly transfer the victim to the emergency room. Local police were also present to record the incident and investigate the cause.
According to information from Le Van Thinh Hospital, because the victim suffered severe burns to many areas of the body, especially the face, he was transferred directly to Cho Ray Hospital for further emergency care and intensive treatment.
