Speaking at the conference, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged and highly appreciated the comprehensive results of all aspects of the work of the provincial People's Procuracy in 2023.
Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang requested that in 2024, the Provincial People's Procuracy continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies on the judicial sector and judicial reform, especially the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW dated November 9, 2022 of the Central Executive Committee, and the directions of the Central and local governments on power control, anti-corruption, and negativity in personnel work, investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments.
Continue to strictly implement Central Resolution 4 (term XI, term XII), Conclusion No. 21 (term XIII) on Party building and rectification, preventing and repelling the degradation of political ideology, morality, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party.
Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang requested the Provincial People's Procuracy to effectively implement the policy of strengthening the responsibility of prosecution in investigation activities, linking prosecution with investigation activities, ensuring that all discovered crimes are handled promptly, strictly, with the right person, the right crime, and the right law, without injustice or letting criminals escape.
Coordinate with relevant agencies to develop and implement regulations to improve the effectiveness of the fight against violations and crimes. Proactively propose measures to improve the quality of the practice of the right to prosecute, supervise investigation, prosecution and trial. Improve the quality of prosecutors' arguments in court. Further improve the effectiveness of the fight against crimes and violations of the law, especially particularly serious criminal cases of public concern, cases monitored and directed by the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Practices.
According to the report, in 2023, the provincial prosecution sector received 1,790 reports (reaching 100%), the prosecution resolved 1,714 reports (reaching 95.75%), and is verifying 76 reports within the time limit. The two-level Procuracy investigated 1,763 cases with 2,982 defendants, resolved 1,435 cases with 2,536 defendants, reaching 81.4%, and is investigating 328 cases with 446 defendants (all within the time limit prescribed by law). Along with that, coordinating with prosecution agencies to identify 180 key cases, reaching more than 13.2%, exceeding the assigned target by 8.24%. The work of prosecution, suspension, and temporary suspension of investigation ensures grounds, in accordance with legal regulations, and there is no suspension of investigation due to non-crime.
With outstanding achievements and results in the year, the Provincial People's Procuracy was awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Government. The Supreme People's Procuracy awarded a certificate of merit to the Provincial People's Procuracy for its achievements in 2022 and 2023, achieving the title of Excellent Labor Collective; awarded the Emulation Flag for leading the emulation block to 4 collectives: General Office, Department 2 (Provincial People's Procuracy), and the People's Procuracies of Tu Ky and Nam Sach districts.
