Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations presents gifts to Hai Duong

Comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation received and chaired the working session with the delegation.

The delegates exchanged and discussed many issues related to the tasks and difficulties in people's foreign affairs and the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations; connecting and attracting foreign investment into Hai Duong and vice versa. Members of the working delegation also shared and clarified some recommendations of Hai Duong province's delegates, and at the same time suggested some coordination issues for Hai Duong to continue organizing foreign affairs activities and mobilize aid sources more effectively.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, thanked the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for their attention to Hai Duong in the past time. He hoped that the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations would continue to support the province in implementing the Central Government's guidelines on people-to-people diplomacy; be a bridge to share with other countries that are facing more difficulties; promote and introduce the image, people, and country of Vietnam as well as Hai Duong province to international friends, and attract more investment resources to build Hai Duong province to develop more and more...

Concluding the working session, Comrade Nguyen Van Doanh, Party Committee member, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations acknowledged the positive results in people's foreign affairs of Hai Duong province. He suggested that the province pay more attention to the staff of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, those working in people's foreign affairs; concretize documents, policies and regulations on receiving non-governmental funding... The Union will continue to support Hai Duong in effectively implementing people's foreign affairs, promoting the local image, practically serving the implementation of the province's socio-economic development and international integration goals, creating conditions for foreign non-governmental aid projects to be implemented locally.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Tuan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations reported on the results of foreign affairs work of Hai Duong province.

In recent times, the people's foreign affairs work of Hai Duong province has been closely concerned by the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, promptly directed and created conditions for effective operation. Up to now, Hai Duong province has 12 member friendship associations and they operate well such as Vietnam - Russia, Vietnam - France, Vietnam - Germany, Vietnam - Korea, Vietnam - Japan, Vietnam - Cuba, Vietnam - Australia, Vietnam - North Korea, Vietnam - Laos...

Comrade Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, proposed a number of issues related to difficulties in people-to-people diplomacy activities.

The Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations has actively advised the province to maintain and develop friendly cooperation, exchange and communication with foreign sister localities such as Vientiane (Laos), Seine-Saint-Denis province, Montreuil city (France), Suwon (Korea)... Every year, the province organizes delegations to receive and welcome many delegations of non-governmental organizations to visit, exchange and cooperate, survey and implement projects. The work of mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid has been actively carried out. Over the past 5 years, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations has worked with more than 10 foreign organizations, implementing more than 90 projects with a total aid capital of about 129 billion VND. The projects mainly focus on the fields of construction, environmental protection, education promotion and support for disadvantaged families...
