On the morning of April 23, the Hai Duong Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations held a talk on "The situation in the Middle East and the foreign policy of our Party and State towards the region".
At the talk, Ambassador Nguyen Quang Khai, former Director of the Department of West Asia - Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former Ambassador of Vietnam to the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and some Middle Eastern countries, informed about the complicated current situation in the Middle East. Notably, the Palestine - Israel conflict has not been completely resolved for more than 75 years; the tense war in the Gaza Strip between the Hamas Islamic resistance movement and Israel, the conflict between Iran - Israel and internal conflicts in each country. The Ambassador also informed about the viewpoints and policies of our Party and State in foreign affairs.
The talk helped the union's officials and members better understand the foreign policy of the Party and State and actively and creatively apply it in people's foreign affairs, contributing to the successful implementation of assigned tasks.
Ambassador Nguyen Quang Khai is a professional diplomat with over 37 years of experience in the diplomatic service. He has worked in many Middle Eastern countries, accumulated extensive knowledge and understanding of the Middle East and Africa, and made outstanding contributions to strengthening the friendship and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and countries in the Arab world and Africa. In July 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Lifetime Ambassador to Vietnam by the State.
