Among the 10 high schools with the highest average scores in the 2024 Hanoi National University's competency assessment exam, there are 2 schools in Hai Duong. They are Thanh Mien II High School and Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of the Testing Center, Hanoi National University, announced the above information at the HSA exam summary conference on the morning of August 22. This is the first time this data has been published.
Last year, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted had 206 candidates taking the exam, the highest score was 122/150, the lowest was 51, the average score was 89.5, ranking first in the top 10.
Thanh Mien II High School and Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted (Hai Duong) had average scores of 86.3 and 86, ranking 6th and 7th respectively.
The Top 10 also includes Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education, Le Hong Phong High School (Nam Dinh), Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, Luong Van Tuy High School (Ninh Binh), Hung Yen High School for the Gifted, and Thai Nguyen High School for the Gifted.
By locality, the provinces with the highest average HSA scores are Nam Dinh and Vinh Phuc, both at 79/150. However, the number of candidates taking the exam in Nam Dinh is nearly 6,900, 3,000 more than Vinh Phuc.
Other provinces in the top 10 include Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Phu Tho, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Thanh Hoa, all with 76.5 points or more.
HSA is one of the two largest private exams in the country, with about 90 universities using the results for admission. This year, the exam consisted of 6 sessions with more than 100,600 candidates participating.
The HSA exam consists of 3 parts: Mathematics and data processing (50 questions, 75 minutes); Language - Literature (50 questions, 60 minutes); Science (50 questions, 60 minutes). The total score of the exam is 150, the official test time is 195 minutes.
The 2024 exam score distribution is assessed to have a normal distribution with a median of 76. The average score of the candidates is 76.5.
The two female students with the highest score - 129, both from Hanoi, are Nguyen Thanh Ngoc (Kim Lien High School) and Nguyen Mai Truc (Chuong My A High School). This score is 4 points lower than last year's valedictorian.
From 2025, the exam will have some changes in the structure and way of asking questions to match the 2018 general education program.
