Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang: Absolutely do not be subjective or negligent before storm No. 3

On the morning of September 6, comrade Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee inspected the response to storm No. 3 in Binh Giang district. Accompanying him were comrade Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and a number of relevant agencies and units.

Inspecting the actual situation at Cau Sop pumping station (Ke Sat town), the landslide point of Bac Hung Hai canal bank and the concentrated rice production area (Thuc Khang commune), the Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang requested that agencies, units and localities absolutely must not be subjective and negligent in the face of storm No. 3. At the same time, it is necessary to anticipate situations to have timely response measures, especially when there is heavy rain and water accumulates quickly. Therefore, it is necessary to do a good job of draining buffer water and lowering the water level of the main canal. The flood drainage pumping stations must be carefully inspected, fully prepared with equipment and backup engines to meet operational requirements, minimize flooding and protect agricultural production.

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang directed all levels, sectors and localities to step up propaganda work on forecasts and developments of storms and floods so that people can grasp and proactively prevent them. For vulnerable points on the irrigation system, it is necessary to arrange forces on duty, prepare adequate supplies and equipment, and handle incidents promptly from the first hour when they occur.

For key locations on the Bac Hung Hai system, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the District People's Committee to coordinate with the Bac Hung Hai Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. to calculate appropriate handling plans in urgent cases, so as not to passively affect disaster prevention work.

Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang assigned members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to closely monitor the assigned areas to ensure the highest level of direction in response to storm No. 3.
