After losing money in the stock market, Huynh Minh Tri posted an advertisement to sell plots of land in the Nam Dak Bla urban area even though he was not the owner.
On August 1, Kon Tum Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance trial and sentenced defendant Huynh Minh Tri (born in 1986, residing at 90/16 Tran Hung Dao, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province) to 15 years in prison for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to the indictment, Huynh Minh Tri is the director and legal representative of Thanh Tam Solar Company Limited, registered on August 26, 2020, business lines: Wholesale of electronic and telecommunications equipment and components; installation of water supply and drainage systems, heating and air conditioning systems.
During its operation, Huynh Minh Tri carried out rooftop solar power projects for a number of individuals in Kon Tum province. From around February to March 2021, Tri's company encountered financial difficulties due to Tri's loss in stock investment, many previous purchases but no money to pay the sellers...
Although Thanh Tam Solar Company and Huynh Minh Tri personally do not have the right to use any land plots in the Nam Dak Bla urban area, Le Loi ward, Kon Tum city, Kon Tum province, Tri still used the account "Thanhtamsolar" on Tri's Facebook social network to post advertisements for the sale of land plots in the Nam Dak Bla urban area.
Specifically, from April 1, 2021 to June 14, 2021, Huynh Minh Tri used fake personal information, made calls, introduced investment in fake solar power projects, and lied about land investment to repeatedly commit fraud and appropriate property worth more than VND 2.4 billion from Ms. VTT (residing in Kon Tum province).
In addition to fraudulently selling land, Tri also fraudulently called for investment in solar power, introduced investment in stocks... thereby appropriating more than 1.9 billion VND from Mr. NVT (residing in Hanoi); appropriating 140 million VND from Mr. HHP (residing in Hai Chau district, Da Nang city); appropriating 300 million VND from Mr. NVH (residing in Kon Tum province).
