Solemn reception to welcome General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping

On the evening of April 14, at the International Convention Center, Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong hosted a solemn reception to welcome General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and the high-ranking delegation of the Chinese Party and State who are paying a State visit to Vietnam from April 14-15.

Speaking at the reception, General Secretary To Lam stated that this visit by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping took place in a very special context, when the people of the two countries were joyfully celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations, which is also the Year of Humanitarian Exchange between the two countries.

Comrade Xi Jinping is the highest Chinese leader to visit Vietnam the most in history and this is his first foreign visit in 2025, demonstrating the importance and top priority of the Party, State and Comrade Xi Jinping personally towards Vietnam and the Vietnam-China relationship.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that 75 years ago, the important event of Vietnam and China officially establishing diplomatic relations opened a new era for the friendly relations between the two socialist neighbors. During the heroic revolutionary years, the two Parties, two countries and two peoples always gave each other great, effective, righteous and sincere help and support, creating "the close Vietnam-China relationship, both comrades and brothers."

Following the era of President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong, with the hard work of generations of leaders of the two Parties and two countries, we have opened a new era of development of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance.

General Secretary To Lam said that in an atmosphere of trust and sincerity, the two sides had very successful talks and reached many important and comprehensive common perceptions on major directions and measures to promote the relationship between the two Parties and two countries to develop more substantially, to a new height in a new era of prosperity, development and well-being for both peoples.

This positive result, together with the common perceptions at the meetings between General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and President Liang Qiang, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, added new momentum, increasingly developing, actively contributing to the development of each country, meeting the expectations of the people of the two countries.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, General Secretary To Lam wished the State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping a great success; wished the People's Republic of China and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to develop more and more prosperously and the people to be happier.

In his response, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping expressed his gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception of the Party, Government and people of Vietnam; highly appreciated Vietnam's development achievements, social and political stability, rapid economic development, increasingly improved people's lives, and active and dynamic diplomatic work. Vietnam is increasingly playing an important role in the international arena.

General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping believes that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, the Vietnamese people will certainly successfully achieve the goals set by the 13th National Party Congress and firmly enter a new era - the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.

General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping emphasized that the Vietnam-China relationship is both traditional and brotherly, and this friendship will continue to be further developed. In recent years, the two sides have maintained strategic exchanges, jointly oriented the development of China-Vietnam relations in the new era, and opened a stage for the community to share the strategic future of China-Vietnam.
