Cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress has become an important pillar, contributing to building a solid foundation for the sustainable development of Vietnam-China relations.
On April 14, at the Party Central Committee headquarters, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
At the meeting, expressing his delight at having the opportunity to meet with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that Vietnam and China are close neighbors with a long-standing traditional friendship, which has been cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries; Comrade Xi Jinping's fourth State visit to Vietnam in his position as the highest leader of the Party and State of China not only demonstrates the importance of the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, but is also an important milestone, opening a new stage in consolidating and developing the relationship of "both comrades and brothers."
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his delight at the rich achievements and important common perceptions that General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping achieved during their talks, especially the fact that the two General Secretaries agreed on strategic-level guiding ideas and comprehensive orientations for deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the Community of Shared Future of strategic significance between the two countries; affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly will thoroughly grasp and is ready to closely coordinate with the National People's Congress of China in promoting the role of the legislative body and promoting the concretization of important common perceptions between the two General Secretaries.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping said he had just had effective talks and meetings with General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; expressed his joy at witnessing the great achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have achieved in nearly 40 years of Doi Moi and felt the solid foundation in the friendly relations between the two Parties and the two countries.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping said that both countries are entering a crucial stage in their strategic development, and need to coordinate to deepen the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance, adding positive and stable energy to the development of the world.
Regarding the cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress in recent times, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress has become an important pillar, contributing to building a solid foundation for the sustainable development of bilateral relations.
The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the role of the parliamentary cooperation channel in promoting strategic dialogue, sharing legislative experience, supervising and deciding on major issues, thereby strengthening political trust and facilitating cooperation initiatives between the two countries.
Regarding the direction of cooperation in the coming time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that the legislative body plays an increasingly important role in the cause of building socialism and socio-economic development of each country.
The Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to closely coordinate with the National People's Congress of China through mechanisms such as high-level delegation exchanges, specialized committees, parliamentary friendship groups and multilateral parliamentary forums; improve the effectiveness of national governance; act as an important bridge, bringing the voices of the two peoples closer together, thereby consolidating the social foundation for Vietnam-China relations.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping agreed that the two sides need to increase exchanges through the Party, the National People's Congress, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the Fatherland Front, share legislative experience, and jointly build a solid legal corridor for major cooperation projects, including cooperation in building three standard-gauge railway lines connecting the two countries.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping hopes that the professional agencies of the National People's Congress and the National People's Congress will increase exchanges on experiences in building a socialist rule-of-law state and developing people's democracy throughout the process; promote exchanges on legal topics; jointly inherit and promote the tradition of cooperation between the two Parties and the closeness between the two peoples; strengthen multilateral cooperation; and control well maritime disagreements, thereby continuously consolidating, preserving and promoting friendly neighborly relations, enriching the strategic significance of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future.
Expressing his approval of the proposals of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping affirmed his support for the National Assembly of China to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the Vietnamese National Assembly; and welcomed National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man's visit to China to enhance exchanges between the two countries' legislative bodies.
