Among more than 50,700 candidates taking the first three rounds of the Hanoi National University's aptitude test (HSA), one candidate scored 129/150 points, the highest to date.
On April 24, the Hanoi National University Examination Center announced the score distribution of the first three rounds of the 2024 capacity assessment exam.
Of the 50,700 candidates, the highest score was 129/150, the lowest was 17. The average score was 77.2 and the median was 77.
The number of candidates who scored 110 points or more accounted for nearly 1%; 5.4% who scored 100 points or more. About 56.4% of candidates scored 75 points or more. This is the minimum score used by many universities for admission. Compared to last year, the distribution of scores in these three rounds of exams remained almost unchanged.
"With a standard distribution of scores, it is relatively convenient for schools to set a threshold to ensure input quality as well as admission standards," said the leader of the Hanoi National University Examination Center.
In 2024, the HSA competency assessment exam recorded nearly 105,000 registrations. Currently, three rounds of exams have been held and three more will take place on May 11-12, May 26 and June 1-2 in 11 provinces and cities including Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh.
The HSA exam is taken on a computer in 195 to 199 minutes, with a maximum score of 150. Candidates will know their scores immediately after taking the test.
The test consists of three parts with objective multiple choice questions (choose the answer), fill-in-the-blank questions in the fields of mathematics (50 questions, 75 minutes), literature - language (50 questions, 60 minutes), natural science - social science (50 questions, 60 minutes). Parts 1 and 3 will have 1-3 additional test questions, not scored.
90 schools said they use the exam results for admission. Of these, 17 military schools used the exam scores for the first time.
There is no time limit for the use of the Hanoi National University's aptitude test scores. However, the Hanoi National University Testing Center recommends using the test results for admission purposes within a maximum of 24 months from the test date.
