A three-story house in Trai Ca alley, Truong Dinh ward, Hai Ba Trung district, caught fire at dawn, one person had to jump to the roof of the house next door to escape.
At 3:58 a.m. on June 14, a fire broke out in a bedroom on the second floor of a three-story house. The room contained many flammable materials such as beds, wardrobes, clothes, books, etc., causing the fire to spread quickly and overflow the window.
The fire site consists of two blocks of houses with a common yard, of which block one is one story high and is used as a storage area, block two is three stories high and about 30 square meters wide. The owner lives with the house and has rooms for students to rent.
According to a witness, at least two people escaped at the time of the fire. One of the homeowner's children escaped from the stairs, while the other jumped onto the roof of the house next door.
Authorities dispatched four fire trucks from Hai Ba Trung District Police and Hoang Mai District Police to put out the fire. Because the house was located only 2 meters deep in an alley, about 100 meters from Tran Dai Nghia Street, firefighters had to lower a rope inside.
After about 20 minutes, the fire was extinguished, there were no casualties, all the furniture in the bedroom was burned. The initial cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.
Recently, Hanoi has had many fires in houses located deep in small alleys, making fire prevention and fighting, rescue and relief difficult. Most recently, on May 24, a fire occurred in a house and rented accommodation on Trung Kinh Street, Cau Giay District, killing 14 people and injuring 6 others.
