Among the 14 people who died in a fire at a boarding house in Trung Kinh alley (Trung Hoa ward, Cau Giay district), Hanoi on the morning of May 24, was a young couple from Hai Duong who had just gotten married in early March 2024. The wife was pregnant.

According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Tu Ky District (Hai Duong), by the afternoon of May 24, the district confirmed that someone from Quang Khai Commune had died in a fire at a motel in Hanoi early that morning. The victims were a couple who had just gotten married in early March this year.
The victim, from Quang Khai commune, is Mr. VVD, born in 1998, in Nhu Tinh village. His wife is Ms. NTTH, born in 2001, in Mao Dien commune, Thuan Thanh district (Bac Ninh province).
After getting married, Mr. D. and Ms. H. went to Hanoi to work and temporarily stayed at the above boarding house. According to information provided by the family, Ms. NTTH is pregnant.
Mr. D's family situation is very difficult. His father is a farmer, his mother is a seasonal worker. Mr. D has a younger sister who is studying at university. Mr. D's parents are currently taking care of and raising his severely disabled older sister.
The bodies of Mr. D. and his wife are being brought back to their hometown.
At around 0:30 on May 24, a fire broke out at a rented house in Trung Kinh alley (Trung Hoa ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi). The fire flared up fiercely and quickly spread, black smoke billowed high. According to initial statistics, 14 people were killed and 3 were injured.
