The whole country recorded more than 6,500 cases of dengue fever in one week.

Since the beginning of the year, the country has recorded 113,962 cases of dengue fever, including 31 deaths.

According to the Ministry of Health, disease statistics show that in week 41 (from October 9 to 15), the country recorded 6,504 cases of dengue fever, with no deaths.

Thus, compared to the previous week, the number of cases decreased by 9.2%, the number of hospitalizations was 4,863, compared to the previous week, the number of hospitalizations decreased by 11%.

Since the beginning of the year, the country has recorded 113,962 cases of dengue fever, 31 deaths. Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of cases decreased by 56.8%, and deaths decreased by 97 cases.

In Hanoi, according to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), as of last weekend, the city recorded 2,766 cases of dengue fever in 30 districts, towns and cities (an increase of 165 cases compared to the previous week), including 1 death.

In Ho Chi Minh City, according to the City Health Department, last week there were 371 cases of dengue fever recorded in the area, an increase of 10 cases compared to the previous week. Of these, 103 cases were residing in other provinces (accounting for 27.76%). On average, 13 severe cases were treated each day, an increase compared to the average of last week (12 cases).

Dengue fever is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. There are four serotypes of the dengue virus: DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4. The virus is transmitted from infected people to healthy people through mosquito bites. The Aedes aegypti mosquito is the main vector.
