Ho Chi Minh City has a death due to dengue fever

The number of dengue fever cases in Ho Chi Minh City is continuously increasing every week, with one death recorded.

This evening, November 23, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that the city has just recorded 1 death due to dengue fever. Since week 37, the number of dengue fever cases has been on a continuous increase. As of week 46, Ho Chi Minh City has recorded 12,013 dengue fever cases, the locality with the highest number of cases in the Southern region.

According to monitoring data from the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City, the cumulative number of dengue fever cases from the beginning of the year to week 45 in the Southern region is 44,980 cases.

Through monitoring dengue fever risk points, Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control has recorded risk points with mosquito larvae.

The risk of dengue fever outbreaks is everywhere from inner cities to suburbs and in all districts, wards and communes. Therefore, the risk of dengue fever cases will continue to increase if drastic measures are not taken.

The Department of Health requests district health centers and ward and commune health stations to thoroughly investigate and handle dengue fever cases and outbreaks in the area.
