Last week, Hanoi had 403 more cases of dengue fever. The epidemic is at its peak.
According to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC), last week (from October 11 to 17), the entire city of Hanoi recorded 403 cases of dengue fever, an increase of 57 cases compared to the previous week.
Patients are distributed in 30 districts, towns and cities. Some districts and towns recorded many patients such as: Dong Da (37 cases); Ba Dinh (31 cases), Ha Dong (31 cases); Thanh Oai (26 cases); Dan Phuong (23 cases)... During the week, the city recorded 24 more dengue fever outbreaks in 14 districts and towns.
Accumulated from the beginning of 2024 to present, the number of dengue fever cases in Hanoi is 4,563 cases, no deaths, down 80.4% compared to the same period in 2023.
The representative of Hanoi CDC assessed: Dengue fever is still complicated, and the number of cases is forecast to increase rapidly in the coming time. The reason is that Hanoi is still at the peak of the annual dengue fever epidemic; the current weather is also favorable for the emergence and development of dengue-transmitting mosquitoes.
Next week, Hanoi CDC will continue to step up monitoring the handling of dengue fever outbreaks in some areas with many outbreaks such as Lam Dien Commune (Chuong My), Phung Xa Commune (Thach That), Cat Linh Ward (Dong Da), Ta Thanh Oai Commune (Thanh Tri District)... At the same time, organize timely and effective handling of areas with patients and dengue fever outbreaks, especially in areas with many patients.
Hanoi also strengthens the monitoring and detection of patients at decentralized medical facilities, on the software system of Circular 54/2015/TT-BYT and in the community. At the same time, strengthen communication work, timely and complete information on the epidemic situation and measures to prevent some diseases such as dengue fever, whooping cough, measles, hand, foot and mouth disease, etc.
