Another dengue fever outbreak appeared in Hai Duong

According to the Hai Duong Provincial Center for Disease Control, on October 8, Hai Duong recorded a new dengue fever outbreak with 2 cases of domestic origin in Pham Xa 1 village, Tuan Viet commune (Kim Thanh). Currently, 1 case is being treated at Hai Duong Provincial General Hospital, the remaining case is being treated as an outpatient at home.

The province has 3 active outbreaks. Previously, at the end of September, the outbreak in Do Xa residential area, Tu Minh ward (Hai Duong city) had 2 infected people; the outbreak in Ly Duong village, Vinh Hong commune (Binh Giang) also had 2 infected cases. Currently, these patients are in stable health and have been discharged from the hospital.

From January 1 to October 8, Hai Duong recorded 566 cases of dengue fever, an increase of 10 cases compared to the same period in 2023.

According to the assessment of the provincial Center for Disease Control, the dengue fever epidemic in Hai Duong this year came early and is on the rise. The Center recommends that localities, especially districts with outbreaks, closely monitor cases of the disease and suspected cases; clean up the environment, collect waste, and kill mosquito larvae.
