Detain subjects who used force to collect debt

According to investigation documents, previously, Mr. Le Xuan Dinh, born in 1975 (living in the same Doan Thuong commune) borrowed more than 100 million VND from Thoat, but Mr. Dinh has not yet paid Thoat.

Around the end of December 2023, when he learned that Mr. Dinh had received a sum of support money, Thoat repeatedly went to collect the debt but failed. Frustrated by not being able to collect the debt, on January 19, 2024, Thoat invited Vu Dinh Chuan (a notorious subject with many criminal records) to go with him. When they went, the subjects brought axes to Mr. Dinh's residence and workplace. Here, Thoat and Chuan repeatedly used words and force to threaten and intimidate in order to appropriate 50 million VND from Mr. Dinh's family.

Determining that the incident had signs of crime, the Investigation Police Agency of Gia Loc District Police initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused, temporarily detained Thoat and Chuan for robbery, and continued to expand the investigation to handle according to the provisions of law.
