Arrest of suspect in gold shop robbery in Lao Cai

Lao Cai Provincial Police said that at around 7:20 p.m. on June 29, Bao Thang District Police coordinated with the Provincial Police Criminal Police Department to successfully arrest the suspect who robbed a gold shop in residential group No. 1, Tang Loong Town, Bao Thang District, Lao Cai Province.

According to the police, at around 12:16 p.m. on June 29, a robbery occurred at Tuyen Theu gold shop in residential group 1, Tang Loong town, Bao Thang district.

The suspect rode a black motorbike without a license plate, wearing gloves, a mask and a helmet covering his face, carrying a knife and hammer, and broke the glass case of the gold shop to rob property.

At that time, in the shop, there was only Ms. Doan Thi Thuy Nga (born in 1991), the owner, cooking rice in the kitchen in the back.

When discovered, Ms. Nga went upstairs and was threatened by the suspect with a knife, she ran to the back of the house shouting. The suspect quickly took the gold and escaped. The stolen property was initially estimated at more than 20 taels of gold.

Immediately upon receiving the news, Colonel Cao Minh Huyen, Director of Lao Cai Provincial Police and Colonel Tran Quoc Huy, Deputy Director - Head of the Investigation Police Agency of the Provincial Police, directed the Criminal Police Department and Bao Thang District Police to mobilize maximum forces, coordinate with the Police of districts, towns and cities to focus on the investigation.

The joint force has screened nearly 100 subjects under professional management and mobile subjects in the area as well as neighboring areas, and workers with suspicious signs in Tang Loong Industrial Park. At the same time, many reconnaissance teams have been assigned to screen hundreds of cameras on inter-commune roads, provincial roads, and national highways related to the area where the robbery occurred.

At the same time, the authorities have also propagated on the media throughout the area... to encourage people to denounce crimes.

After applying synchronous professional measures, the fighting force identified the suspect's hiding place after committing the crime and mobilized nearly 100 officers and soldiers to block off the suspected area for inspection.

At 7:20 p.m. the same day, the authorities investigated and arrested the suspect, Nguyen Van Tuan (born in 1995, residing in Muong 1 village, Xuan Giao commune, Bao Thang district), along with the vehicle used to commit the crime and evidence.

Through quick verification, it was known that the suspect was a worker at the DCP factory of Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemicals One Member Co., Ltd.
