When going to see a doctor, these people only need to use their chip-embedded citizen identification card instead of their health insurance card.

The provincial Social Insurance (SI) has coordinated with the police agency to update the personal identification code and citizen identification card (CCCD) to match the social insurance and health insurance (HI) participation data for over 1.6 million people, equivalent to over 95% of the HI participants. When going to the hospital for examination and treatment, these people only need to use the chip-embedded CCCD instead of the HI card.

5% of people participating in social insurance and health insurance do not have matching information between their health insurance card and their chip-embedded ID card, mainly in the groups of retirees, meritorious people, veterans, and people from poor and near-poor households.
